Chaos Packs a Bag Too
Vacations and weekends were supposed to be simple… but Donny and Judy’s family never once achieved “simple.” In this episode, they revisit the getaways that were meant to be relaxing and somehow turned into full‑scale chaos before the car even left the driveway. From surprise disasters to travel plans that detonated on contact, this episode proves one thing: whenever they packed a bag, chaos packed one too. If your family vacations ever turned into “why are we like this?” stories, you’re in the right place.

Judy, here we are, continuing with season two. Super fun, our podcast, enjoying doing it. I get asked a lot, and I'm sure you do as well, how many stories do we have? How long can we continue talking about these stories? We can go a long time talking about this stuff. We recently went up to your reunion up in Minot, talking to your friends and different people, kind of brought back some additional memories.
SPEAKER_01One of the things, and it was at the reunion that was kind of crazy is I we were talking about the Miami trip. The rental car, and I was talking to the group of girls that was on that school trip where we abandoned it. And then they told me about that hotel room, which we referenced in the last episode. And Donnie, I have a confession to make. I told you that the that the rental car and the hotel room was the worst thing that I did on that trip. There were two other things. So we you have to wonder how the room got in the condition that it got. So we kind of laughed, and some of the girls, and they were even texting me, as recently as a couple of days ago, we described that weekend on a school trip as Girls Gone Wild.
SPEAKER_00The original Girls Gone Wild started with you guys in Miami.
SPEAKER_01We rated number one the mini bar. We had no concept. We're like, oh my God, this is the best thing ever. You get a fully stocked bar with no key at that time. So you could totally go in there. So we drank the mini bar dry. And that was a lot of the booze, whatever. The sad part of that was that we had a crazy hotel bill that surprised our teacher at Checkout. She had to negotiate that build out so we could get out of there. It was like in the thousands of dollars. So it was ridiculous.
SPEAKER_00Judy, the mini bar key actually came about from you guys. Because before that, they just kind of left everything unlocked. After you guys checked out, they're like, we've got to rethink this on how people get their booze out of the mini bar. And you guys probably didn't even think that you got charged for it. You probably just thought, free booze.
SPEAKER_01Oh, look at this. This is how you travel. Again, we were 16, so we had no idea, no concept that there was a cost associated to that. But you would think that that would be the bad thing too. Nope. And that there's no girls gone wild weekend unless you sneak out to the strip club. And at 16, we loaded up the rental car and we drove to a strip club. And I'm telling you, we saw things, and it wasn't like uh, you know, where they were kind of partially stripped. They were stripped. And I'm like, I thought only girls twirled batons. Nope, that wasn't a baton twirling. It was a case. Things you could I know, it was things you could not unsee. And it was at the crazy horse saloon, and we laughed our asses off. But I'm like, I have so much shame in admitting that we did it, but everybody talked about it so much at the reunion and the text messages just, I'm like, I have to say something.
SPEAKER_00In Miami, they get totally naked. I figured that out when I lived there as well. And wasn't, you know, didn't frequent a lot of strip clubs, but the couple of times I went, I go, oh, this is different than the Midwest.
SPEAKER_01It was. It was totally girls gone wild. It's really one disrespectful that we were on a school trip doing all of this, you know, and the teacher and all of that. I mean, it was like one train wreck after another. And it's like we had never been out, and it was like a girls' weekend of nonsense.
SPEAKER_00Hey, listen, I wanted to real quick mention that when we were up in Minot and you were getting reminded of some of these stories. Can you believe how cold it was up there? We're up in Minot in June, and the weather, it was it reminded us of some winters that we had, or some summers that we did not have growing up in Minot, where we kind of got cheated out of a summer. And in Minot, you only get two or three months of summer anyway. Well, the weekend we're up in Minot in June. The temperature never got out of the 60s, super windy, was always kind of sprinkling a little bit.
SPEAKER_01Like crack horror shaken cold. It was freezing. That's always my visual for the for the cold.
SPEAKER_00This episode, we're gonna talk a little bit about some of the trips we took, whether they were school trips, adult trips, family vacations, a couple of little mini fast forwards where we took some trips as adults and some goofy things happened.
SPEAKER_01I had three days of hell that I'm gonna get into and not all at once, but I gotta tell you, my three days of hell. You would think when you buy toys, that you would get some kind of direction. And I know our last episode 12 was life skills not included. Well, those life skills also aren't included when you buy big things. So I bought an RV that was like 31-foot RV. I bought a boat, it was like 24 feet. Would you think you'd get any directions for any of those things?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Nowadays there's YouTube and you can kind of watch stuff and figure it out. But when you bought that, probably that wasn't really a big thing. And then they just kind of hand the keys to you, and the next thing you know, you're driving an RV down the highway.
SPEAKER_01There's no special license. Because I said to the guy when I was buying the RV, I'm like, anything that I need, do I need a special license? Do I need to do anything? He goes, yeah. He goes, when you make a right turn, make sure that your shoulder is lined up with the curb before you start turning the wheel. I'm like, that's it. And then the boat was like a 35-minute lesson on the lake. One time, that's it. And by the way, add booze to people doing all of this stuff on the lake. I mean, it's a recipe for disaster. We're gonna get into that too in a little bit, but one thing I have to tell you right from the get-go, and you know your weekend is gonna be bad. On day one, we're going and I have 10 hours on the boat. That's how brand new the boat is. And it's getting towed behind the RV. There's 55 feet of fun rolling down the highway in Nebraska. And a big gust of wind comes and it blows me from the right lane to the left shoulder, almost in the ditch. And I am like trying to control everything. I mean, in white knuckling the drive. And then the morons that I was with, and I am gonna say morons that I was with, said, and I made a pledge to never see them again after this weekend. But one of the things, just on the ride down, hey, can we stop at Starbucks? And I'm like, what are you thinking? The drive-thru with all of this? That's before we even get to this lake in Nebraska, which is in the middle of nowhere. Night one, RV gets stuck, iPods get stolen, not iPads, iPods were the thing at the time. Tree gets chopped down, the RV sinks into place. But I'll tell you more about that in a little bit.
SPEAKER_00All this talk about trips reminded me of a couple of stories of family vacations that we took when we were kids. Do you remember when we went to South Dakota and I think we went on a camping trip? And we're all in the car and we're driving, you know, mom and dad are up front. And this is back again. We could smoke, dad's in the front, got the window down, he's smoking a cigarette, we're all in the back, just thinking that's kind of the norm. And uh, we had our sister with us, and weirdly, a bee flew in the car, and we're all freaking out, screaming. And dad's kind of, you know, trying to keep his composure with the car and all that, and we're all in the backseat freaking out, there's a bee in the car. And the next thing you know, the bee flies into our sister's purse and she freaks out, and the bee's in there, and she closes the purse. Well, now she's got a purse with a bee in it. Well, you know what the solution? You know what the solution to that is? Mom turns around, grabs the purse, throws it out the window. We're driving down the highway. Our sister starts screaming. All of a sudden, we're like, what just happened? And purse might have valuables in it, might have, I don't know, maybe not an ID at that point, or obviously not credit cards or anything, but you know, personal stuff. Purse goes out the window, she starts screaming. We're all kind of laughing, going, wow, did that really just happen? And are we gonna stop and go back and get the purse? No. No, the purse just got left on the side of the highway.
SPEAKER_01Now I know at least where you got the littering from. The folks throwing stuff out the window.
SPEAKER_00I thought, you know, hey, that's okay. So it wasn't just me that made the Indian cry.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that runs in the family. Well, that was a cool trip, too, because that we had our dad's Dodge Charger. That was the one where we tried to go camping with the tent and it didn't work out. But do you remember the horse trip on that too?
SPEAKER_00We've got a great picture of us all sitting on the horse.
SPEAKER_01On sitting on the horse and then actually riding the horse. I remember through some forest fire ravaged area. Pretty crazy. Do you remember our mom and dad too buying us the little cowboy vests, the little cowboy hats? Like we were full on.
SPEAKER_00Judy, it seemed like we were always in costume. Our folks got us dressed up. We were South Dakota. We had the cowboys and Indians uniforms going on. We were in New York. We had Mets and Yankees gear in Germany. We had to do as Germans do and wear later hosen. And we'll get more into that coming up in just a second. But they always spoiled us, and we always got whatever was kind of in at the time. You know, whether again it was the twin mini bikes that we got, the full costumes that we got in South Dakota, the the Coon hats, the raccoon hats, all that kind of stuff. I don't know if you can say coon skin hats anymore. That might be that might be one of those words.
SPEAKER_01Daniel Boon hat.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Daniel Boon hat. There we go. Might be one of those words that's outlawed. We can't talk about that anymore. But I wanted to mention, talk about that Germany trip real quick because we had a stopover in Iceland, which again, that was kind of our I always tell people, yeah, we were in Iceland. Well, we were at the Iceland in Reykjavik, the airport, and uh, we did touchdown. We I think changed planes, got out of the, went into the terminal, and it was crappy weather, kind of reminded us of North Dakota a little bit. Our folks, while we're there, bought us trench coats. So the whole family's like walking in trench coats like we're some kind of freaks.
SPEAKER_01Or spies, right? Or flashers. It could be flash. Wha!
SPEAKER_00But anyway, on the trip to Germany, then we're flying over the rest of the flight to Germany, and there's a guy sitting behind her mom in the airplane, and mom had the big beehive hairdo that you see on TV, and we've got pics of her beehive. A guy behind her was reading the newspaper. Well, he's reading the newspaper, and the newspaper keeps banging against her beehive. And I think she said something to him like, quit that, you know, or whatever she said. And and he didn't. He kept reading the paper. Well, mom's solution, just like throwing the purse out the window with the bee, mom's solution for the guy reading the paper. She turned around, rips the paper out of the guy's hands, crumples it up, and throws it like five feet forward in the aisle. And the guy's like, Okay, I guess I'm done reading the paper.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And he was like, ma'am, ma'am, trying to get the paper. It's down the aisle. I remember that. That was uh crazy.
SPEAKER_00Well, then in Germany, again, we're in gear, we're in full costume, wearing Laderhosen. And we also had canes. You had this goofy hat. I think I might have had a hat as well. You were the mad hatter. We've got other pictures of you wearing a hat. The Dune Buggy picture of you with the hat in the Dune Buggy is classic. So I think you were a kind of a hat person at the time. So we had our full gear, Laderhosen, we had canes. I think I ditched mine after a little while. But the Laderhosen was a thing in Germany where we were hanging out with our cousins and our aunt and uncle, and they lived in this high rise, and they were like on, I don't know, the fifth floor of that high rise, and we'd be outside playing and doing stuff. And I remember I had to go to the bathroom really bad. Okay, I gotta go to the bathroom. I run in, I'm kind of holding my legs together, gotta whiz really bad. I go up to the unit and I start ringing the buzzer. I'm ringing the buzzer and nobody answers. And I'm like, where's Oma? How come she's not answering the door? And I'm standing there, and finally, embarrassingly, Judy, I whizzed myself right there in front of the door and left like this huge puddle. And I'm like, oh my God, how embarrassing. And then I'm like, okay, let me go figure out, let me get out of here. So I start going down the stairs. I go down one flight of stairs and I see people going into our unit. And I'm like, oh my God, I was on the wrong floor. I'm ringing the wrong buzzer. I whizzed in front of somebody's door and left a big puddle.
SPEAKER_01And you ruined your laterhosen. Because I, you know, listen, those were, it was real leather.
SPEAKER_00You can't recover from that.
SPEAKER_01Kids wore Laderhosen all the time to play outside that apartment complex. Everybody was in their laterhosen. I had my, and I was really bummed because most people had those cool dark green laterhosen. I sadly had red laterhosen that had heart-shaped pockets on them, which, you know, look like a moron, but apparently I loved them because I wore them all the time. And I had that Fedora hat and the cane. And I don't know, maybe you weaponized your cane into some kind of a spear. Who knows what happened to yours? But but I can say that cane, you would have thought I had some kind of disability hobbling around or something. Nope, but that cane was part of my my gig.
SPEAKER_00You were like a little leprechaun with uh the later hosen, the hat. You almost had kind of the pointed ears. You kind of looked like a little mini spawk.
SPEAKER_01I did. And do you remember all those kids outside always hitting the buzzers, that stupid game they played, and what they would say? They had like a panel that had a bunch of buzzers. You hit the buzzers all at once, then you'd hear Venus dah, which is who is there, Venus dah, a bunch of people answering all at once, and then you'd say, Schnoodlefresser, which don't translate that.
SPEAKER_00We'll let people we'll let people Google that. It has to do with snot. We'll just leave it at that. Gross. No wonder nobody answered the door when I was like getting ready to whiz myself, and I'm at their banging on the door, and nobody comes. Hey, I gotta tell you real quick, Dad and I are in Minneapolis. It's just him and I. We're going to checkout schools, and we're in a hotel in downtown Minneapolis. We're on the 11th floor, and we find out. Now you can't do this, but the window's open. If you're a jumper, you know, this is a perfect scenario. Open the window and dive out. We open the window, we're looking out. It's, I think, the spring or summer, and uh, we look down and there's a homeless guy sitting on the sidewalk below. Hopefully, dad doesn't get mad about us telling this story because again, at the time it was super funny. Dad goes, watch this. And he grabs a glass of water, and because again, the window's wide open, he pours the glass of water from 11 stories up on this homeless guy. And all of a sudden you hear, oh, and this guy gets all like freaked out. He's thinking, is it raining out? What's going on? No, it was dad pouring a glass of water from 11 stories up on this homeless guy. And I'm still in high school or a senior in high school going, wow, this is cool. You know, mom's throwing purses out the window. That's how we learned how to litter. The cane in Germany, that's where the spear idea came from. And now we're pouring water out the window. At least he didn't drop the glass. That would have been probably assault. Top that pouring water wasn't, but you're not going to figure out where that came from. A homeless guy tells you, Cups, yeah, somebody poured water on me.
SPEAKER_01Well, I gotta go back to my Nipebraska trip because again, it was just nonsense. So I went there unattended. I didn't go with my normal group of people that I go to. And like I said, so when I say that I was there with a bunch of morons, that's true. But I did run into some people that I knew that said, Hey, why don't you come over where we are? Because it's just a little safer area on the lake. Because that lake was actually quite dangerous because weather would kick up really fast there. And I was a super inexperienced boat driver. And one of the people that we went boating with, I said, Does anybody else are is anybody else familiar with how to boat? Oh, yeah, yeah. I I go boating all the time. And I'm like, okay. So day one, we're gonna go boating, but before we go boating, they say we want to go to the other side of the lake because there's a better beach. And I look over there and there's like barely anybody over there. And I'm like, wow, that is an awesome beach, and nobody's over there. Well then nobody's over there. Maybe that's a good thing, or maybe it's a red flag that nobody's on that side of the lake. I have this big Hummer that has to un stick me from the sand because I'm buried in the sand with the RV. So the Hummer's yanking on my front axle, trying to pull out the RV. We get over, we get out of there, we go to the other side of the lake, and immediately sinking even deeper. Like I am buried in the sand with the RV. I can't deal with it right then and there because everybody wants to go boating, supposedly, which I always say supposedly. So the person that's the most experienced person on the uh that says that the most experienced person says, I will drop you in the water with the boat. Back at the Hummer, go in there. So I'm in the boat, all excited for the boating day. And I'm like, what are you doing up there? Why is it taking so you so long to unhook the boat? And I look and Donnie, she is unhooking the trailer from the car. And I am like, what are you doing? I'm like, the whole trailer's gonna roll into the water. Who does that? Why that was alarming was for a couple of reasons. One, because that could have been like a near miss accident. But two, is now I have the realization that I am the most experienced person on the water. So we get that figured out, we get out on the water, and within probably 30 minutes of being out on the water, here comes a jet ski flying up to the boat, and it's the police. The guy's like, Can you not read? What are you talking about? He goes, Can you not read? I can totally read. What's the problem? He said, This is a dry lake. And I said, What do you mean a dry lake? There's water in the lake. I had no concept of what dry lake meant. You know what I mean? So he said, There's a $250 fine per can of beer. He goes, You want me to look in that cooler? Don't be looking in the cooler. Don't be looking at anything. He goes, Well, why don't you get your ass? He goes, back there, otherwise I'm gonna find you. He goes, Which one's your RV? I said it's way off in the distance over there. And he goes, go drop it off. So by the way, the other thing that was crazy is again, the RV is brand new. Boat is brand new. The person with the Homer brought their dog, a new puppy. And I have a brand new RV. I said, Hey, that dog cannot run free in the new RV. I said, So you have to please be careful with that. Oh, yeah, I'll keep the dog in the crate, blah, blah, blah. So I'm out and about on the lake, whatever, and there's a small cloud off in the distance. A tiny, tiny cloud. So I have to go drop somebody off on the other side of the lake. Well, in the meantime, it starts to rain. And all of a sudden, the rain is getting stronger and stronger, and waves are coming on the boat. I can't see nothing. And I'm like, oh my God, I gotta, I gotta get my boat to shore. And I was horrible at trailering the boat. So I'm like, that's not even an option to get it on a trailer because now the winds are kicking up and it's like crazy out there. And I bring the boat to shore. People are running up. They're trying to help me tie off. I got a Navy SEAL diving down, trying to tie off the boat. He's bleeding because he's getting slammed up against the boat. It is a horrible storm. But I'm trying to hustle because I see my RV and I'm trying to prioritize based on value. And I have my awning out on the RV and it's flapping like crazy. And I'm like, oh my God, I got to get that in. There's drama going on. So I'm run into the RV. The first thing I do is step in a pile of dog shit. I about lose my mind. Do you think that's the worst of it?
SPEAKER_00This sounds like the teasing intro to the worst is still to come.
SPEAKER_01All of a sudden I hear whap whap whap on the door of the RV. What the hell is that? So I open the door, and there's a lady that said, Your boat just beached. It's filling with water. What? And she's like, You're gonna have to ride out the storm or your boat's gonna be like sunk into the sand, filling with all kinds of water. We're running out to the boat, slide in there, get the boat pushed off, and we're in the storm and waves are coming in. There's, I mean, the storm is so bad. There was a boat beside us where they were holding up their steering wheel from that had detached from their boat. Help us, help us. And I'm like, I got my own nonsense going on on the boat. So I got the pump going, trying to pump out water, all kinds of stuff. And all of a sudden, the pump quits working and the boat starts to sink. So we start bailing out with solo cups, trying to get water out of the boat. It's like unbelievable. All of a sudden, the whole back end is underwater. And I have like a ski tower on top. It's like just nonsense. I'm like, Mayday, Mayday, call in on 911, send the Coast Guard. I'm like, we're not gonna make it. We're going down. The boat has 10 hours. And I'm thinking, oh God, I wreck my brand new boat. It is like just crazy stressful on the boat. The back end's out. All of a sudden the motor dies on the boat, the pump dies on the boat, and I'm like, please God. And then my friend that I was on the boat with, um, dialing, she goes, What are you doing? I said, I'm making goodbye calls. We don't have our life jackets on.
SPEAKER_00We have making goodbye calls.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, I'm making goodbye calls. We're not gonna make it. Then I call my friends on the other side of the lake. I'm like, somebody send helps. I said, You gotta send somebody. This isn't working. All the gauges are dead on the boat. Finally, I get the boat started. The pump's still not working, but we're moving like three miles an hour. Kind of heading towards the shoreline over to where the trailer is. So somebody backs the trailer in, but they give a big line. Drag me in and pull me into shore. That way, the boat doesn't sink.
SPEAKER_00You guys left on a three-hour cruise just like Gilligan's Island and then riding the storm out. I can't imagine doing that. And then somebody holding up a steering wheel and goodbye calls. That's terrifying.
SPEAKER_01That boat drained for hours. It drained like the whole way back to Denver, which I don't know, it was like six, seven hour drive. But that was wasn't even the craziest part. Later that afternoon, some guy in a truck comes by to try to to tow out the RV that's stuck. Well, he whatever he's using sinks and builds a giant crater behind the RV. I have to get a John Deere tractor. One of those combine tractors is coming to pull out the RV. And the next morning I'm waiting for the John Deere tractor to come. And I wake up. Well, I'm like, hmm, what does that smell? The dog peed on my pillow. And I am outside by the crater, smoking a cigarette at the back of the RV, thinking, I am never talking to any of these people again. I'm never, ever, ever, ever setting foot in this godforsaken place again. I drive home, get into the driveway. I think I was in shock over everything that happened, but as soon as I get in the driveway of the house, it starts to hail. And that was just like an omen that it was like the weekend from hell. What was really crazy is I was like a little kid and I cleaned that boat for hours, thinking it would make it like new. The water line was this far from the top. I bring it to the boat place to get it uh you know, I said, Hey, the boat won't start. So the guy says, and and he's like, Oh, he It looks really good. He goes, There shouldn't be anything wrong. Well, the boat was total. That ski tower on the top. He said, Did you sink the boat? I go, What do you mean? He goes, like, was it on the bottom of the lake? I said, Why would you say that? The tower was cracked, but that tower got ripped off partially because of how powerful the waves were.
SPEAKER_00So I gotta ask you two questions. Are you still friends with those people? And have you ever gone back to that lake?
SPEAKER_01Nope. And nope. I've never I made a commitment that I would never see those people. And I do think that lake is cursed.
SPEAKER_00Hopefully those people aren't watching the podcast going, oh, that's why Judy never called us again.
SPEAKER_01It was just an interesting weekend to say the least.
SPEAKER_00Couple more quick road trip stories. I gotta tell you, we went to the basketball tournaments in Fargo, and it's one of the few times that I actually get to go on a trip kind of by myself. I had a couple of friends with me, Scott and Kevin, and we're driving my Lamans, and I think you and Dad were driving behind us, and we had just had an ice storm. And it's March, it's North Dakota, anything goes. There's like a sheet of ice on the highway. And as we're driving, there's all these cars and trucks in the ditch. And we're like, wow, how are we even staying on the highway? And I had a three-speed with the Le Mans, and I remember foolishly downshifting from third to second. And as I did that, I pulled a complete 360, went all the way around, and then went right in the ditch. And I think you had quoted Dad.
SPEAKER_01God damn it. Well, we were Yeah. Well that's true. I remember that. We had to push you out, help push you out.
SPEAKER_00The hidden part of that story is that we had a couple of cases of beer in the back of the car. Dad's getting ready to come up, and you know, he pulls over, and you guys are a little bit ahead of us. We actually got out and stuffed the beer. There's like two feet of snow on a side of the highway. We had like stuffed the beer below the snow line, so it was kind of hidden. But then we didn't realize when we got unstuck, we weren't going to be able to go back and get the beer. We ended up losing a case, an entire case of beer because we were hiding it from dad, not really having a backup plan about how do we get this back in the car. But I got to real quick tell you one more road trip story. I was reminded of this as well. We're driving down to Lake Havasu. This is when I was married with kids. We're doing the all-night drive, which I don't know why the heck we did that. It's a 12-hour drive. You leave at like eight o'clock at night, and you get into Lake Havasu at eight o'clock in the morning. At one point, the kids are on the backseat. Diana's driving, and I'm in the passenger side. It's always scary when you're not the one driving. I think if you're driving, you always kind of feel under control. Diana's driving, and I'm in the passenger seat, dead tired. It's like five in the morning. I glance over at Diana, she's sleeping. She's I couldn't believe it. I'd be like, hey! You know, freaking out. You know, and also the car jerks and all that kind of stuff. And she wakes up. Thank God I woke up because she probably only had dozed off for like five seconds, and luckily the car was still going down the highway. But weirdly, a couple of miles later, off in the desert was a car with a tarp draped over it, and the patrol was there. There was a fatality. And my thought was that's what happened. Somebody fell asleep in their car, ran off the highway, ended up a couple hundred feet out in the desert, died, and now they got tarp over the car. Judy, the same the same trip, Diana's driving, and all of a sudden the car swerves wildly into the other lane and back. And I freak out, and I'm like, oh my God, what happened? And Diana's like, a squirrel ran across the highway. And I'm like, what? What? You almost killed the family because of a squirrel or a roadrunner or whatever it was. And I told her, I said, hey, listen, if there's unless it's like a deer or a moose or something giant, run over it. Do not endanger the family by trying to avoid running over a small little animal.
SPEAKER_01I also went to visit our mom and dad in Lake Havasu. They, you know, I don't know if you know, they always look at us like we're still six years old.
SPEAKER_00We've talked about that in some of our podcasts. They to this day. You know, we talked recently about mom and dad won't let me mow their lawn because they at now, at the age I'm at right now, I can't mow the lawn because I think mom thinks I'm gonna cut my foot off.
SPEAKER_01We we went to Lake Havasoo. They're like, we're gonna go to Oatman today. Oatman, Arizona, you know, it's off of Route 66. And I'm like, okay, well, that'll be fun. And I'm like, what's in Oatman? They're like, well, they have an old Western show and we have a little secret for you. We can't wait. And uh, you know, I'm like, you know, the cowboy show might be a little, I might be a little old for, but I'll go to that. So anyway, we get there and they're like, the surprise is in the back. And I'm like, what is it? They're like a bag of carrots. What? They're like, and they're like, to feed the donkeys. And I'm like, are you kidding? We're gonna feed donkeys, and they're like, yeah, they're all over the town. And they go into the stores and you feed the donkeys. And I think you did that too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we brought the whole family down. We did the Oatman trip as well. The donkeys, I guess, have been doing this for decades, where they live up in the mountains, but they've been trained on their own to come down into Oatman daily because they know tourists are there and people are there and feeding them. Judy, one of the things we're gonna talk about in the future is somebody reminded us when we were in Mayan again, and they were asking about holidays and birthdays that we had. And that jogged our memory about the goofy things that happened to us.
SPEAKER_01It's gonna also involve you wearing a little suit again. And I am gonna say little. So that'll be coming up in a future episode.
