S2 E9 - Gameday
Donny and Judy hit NFL stadiums like a traveling circus of chaos — and the curse comes with them. Donny’s favorite team is cursed… and honestly, Donny might be too. Every Gameday turns into a disaster tour: tailgates gone wrong, superstitions failing spectacularly, and Donny’s pregame, pre‑sportsbook, and postgame food choices becoming part of the curse itself.
Meanwhile Judy? She’s the only one bringing any luck at all — and even that can’t save them from Vegas. They hit the sportsbooks, place their bets, and somehow always end up walking out with empty pockets and full regret.
From stadium seats to Vegas neon, this episode is a full‑blown Gameday meltdown. What could go wrong? Everything. And it does.

Judy, the NFL does a top 10 list. Just about any topic that you can think of with football, they have a top 10 list. Well, a couple years ago, I saw that they had a top 10 list called the 10 most jinxed franchises in the NFL. You know who was number one on that list? My team. The Vikings. Number one on that list. Judy, we were at a Viking game a couple of years ago, and there was a little kid sitting next to us, and he's dressed up in his Viking gear. And I thought, oh, how cute this kid is like a Viking fan. I'm sitting there in my misery. Misery loves company. Not gonna paint a rosy picture for this little kid. So Judy, I looked over at the kid and I thought, Oh, no, you didn't. I said, Are you a Viking fan? He's like, Yeah. And I said, get ready to get your heart broken many times. You see how miserable I am sitting here watching this Viking game? He's like, maybe. Yeah, this is gonna be you in 20 years from now.
SPEAKER_00Well, I do think that when it comes to the Vikings, I think sometimes you carry on that curse for the team. It's not just your team's cursed. That bleeds over into you. I know I said, hey, why don't you come down to Florida? Your Vikings are playing Jacksonville, let's go to that game. And you're like, okay, I'm in. We get a sign made. We have front row seats in the end zone. I'm like, oh my god, I have a TD leapsar sign made. So I think the sign, because it was a Viking sign, was a jinx because they didn't score a single touchdown in that game. And I don't think Jacksonville scored a touchdown. I mean, it was lame from you know six-three or nine-three or some stupid score like that.
SPEAKER_02Judy, I flew almost coast to coast to watch just field goals.
SPEAKER_00It's you know, getting your money is worth, I guess, for you. But I know, and I see you're wearing the Seattle thing today, too. But I I think it's you know, you used to be just diehard Vikings. I mean, you wouldn't even wear anything other than Vikings gear. You didn't watch another game, you didn't do anything. And I remember we were going to New Orleans to go watch the NFC Championship game. It's the Rams against the Saints. And I'm like, hey, why don't you come down and meet us in New Orleans? Come down to that game and let's experience something a little bit different. It's a good vibe. It just totally fucked remember what happened?
SPEAKER_02A lot of things happened that weekend or at that game, but I'm gonna start by just saying it was a cool surprise on Wednesday when you called me up and said, Hey, what are you doing on Sunday? And I said, I don't know why. And you said, You want to go to the NFC Championship game? And the next thing you know, I'm booking a flight down there. I didn't even bring clothes with me because I was flying in on Sunday morning, game day, on the day of the game, getting there a couple of hours before the game. So I think I had a jacket on and I stuffed some underwear in the jacket just so I would have something to change into the next day. But that trip was kind of a wild trip because I don't know if I had totally found out yet that I was allergic to seafood. And New Orleans is not a good town to be in if you're allergic to seafood.
SPEAKER_00I had to fly back, but I remember you were like, hey, well, let's stay an extra day. I want to hang out, let's go see New Orleans, or maybe your flight didn't leave, but then you're like, hmm, I really love some gumbo.
SPEAKER_02You're right. I love gumbo. And the last time I was in New Orleans was with Diana, I think, for one of her birthdays, and the same thing happened. I ate gumbo, and then I spent the night in the hotel room not feeling well. Well, I didn't put, you know, one-on-one together yet and figure out what was going on. So when we were on our New Orleans NFC Championship trip, the first thing I said, you left town. Denise and I are hanging out, and I said, God, I could go for a big giant bowl of gumbo. And oh my God, was that ever good? It was fantastic. Not an hour later, we're walking down Bourbon Street, and I said to Denise, I don't feel so good. And I had to go into like some random bar and go into the bathroom and kneel down and hurl.
SPEAKER_00Any place off a bourbon street when you're going in there, it's just not a good scene anyway. And then to go in there and do that, disgusting. But yeah, all proud of your gumbo. Well, and then another little related thing, I'm like, hey, why don't you come out and meet me in Vegas? Let's go to the sports book. And you're like, okay, I'm in. You come flying in, we go to some nice dinner, or a fancy dinner that night before the big sports book day, and we're in the hotel room, we were getting our bet slips together, deciding what we're gonna bet on the game. We go to this restaurant and you're like, I think I'll have the surf and turf. And I'm like, surf and turf. I get a steak, whatever, because we're a big day before the game. And then as you're eating the dinner when it comes, you're like, you know, sometimes, sometimes I get sick when I eat fish. And I'm like, what? And I said, Yeah, you're like, Yeah, I get sick. And they were I'm like, What do you mean? I said, Why did you order it? And he goes, Well, it's not all the time, it's sometimes sure enough. The next day we're in that sports book, having a great old time, and all of a sudden, you're like, I have to go.
SPEAKER_02Judy, that was the first trip that I actually correlated seafood and not feeling well, and kind of put it together. And you're right. I said, hmm, surf and turf made that comment to you. And then the next day we're watching football and sportsbook. It's not even noon yet, and I'm like, God, I gotta head up to the room for a little bit. I don't feel good. Well, then I disappear for hours, and you came up to the hotel room, and I'm curled up in the bathroom in my underwear, in the fetal position, not feeling good. The coldness of the floor actually kind of made me feel better. But that ended up being the rest of my day. The rest of the games that day, even the Sunday night game, was watched from the hotel room, alternating between the bathroom floor and the bed.
SPEAKER_00You're like running around moaning, lapping the bed in the room. Ugh. What? I'm like, can you at least settle down so I can I can enjoy the rest of the game? And then we became Rams season ticket holders, and you became a Rams fan, a diehard Rams fan.
SPEAKER_02I've kind of adopted the Rams as my second favorite team. In fact, quick story: I got a friend of mine who's a Facebook friend in Bismarck that sent me a message and said, Hey, I thought you were a Vikings fan, because I'm at the Rams game. And the Rams and the Vikings obviously are competing in the NFC. He goes, I thought you were a Vikings fan. And I said, I am, but I like the Rams too. Judy, this guy got so pissed off that I was a Rams fan, he unfriended me. I lost a friend because I was at a Rams game.
SPEAKER_00Come on, you know, and especially with like fantasy and everything. I know Vegas, if you can't go to a football game in person, the next best place, I know I said it earlier, is Vegas. And there's really two great times to go to Vegas. One is opening weekend, always exciting. You know, there's people screaming and yelling like their life depends on it. They got a $2 bet on the Jets. They're just going nuts. But the other time to go to Vegas is for the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl party is quite extravagant. And it's like they have a couple of them, they're in these big banquet rooms or in a giant theater, and you're in there watching the game. And they have all the free food and drink that you can imagine. And you don't even have to get up. They bring it right to you. Which sounds fun, sounds great, but sounds like a bad idea. Because most everybody that we've brought, and we brought you to this too, but most everybody that we've brought hasn't been sober enough through the second half of the game.
SPEAKER_02Free food, yeah, that's okay. Free alcohol, not a good thing for Donnie. And again, like you said, they bring it right to you. So we're watching the Super Bowl, and you took me to a couple of these Super Bowl parties, and I don't think I behaved at any of them. But there's one in particular that I just got out of control at, and that was the Falcons Patriots Super Bowl. And we had gone in on a Falcons bet right when the playoffs started, and we put a bunch of money on the Falcons winning the Super Bowl. And this bet wasn't a huge bet, but it paid off like $4,000. So we're in the theater watching the game. Well, it's 28 to 3. Falcons halftime lead. Donnie's celebrating. Donnie's got free alcohol. Donnie's thinking he's got, you know, and you and I are going to split that. So Donnie's thinking he's got a couple thousand bucks rolling in, getting a little bit hammered. Well, the next thing you know, I pass out in my seat, semi-conscious for the rest of that game. And I made some comments or woke up a couple of times and saw Atlanta was ahead and was cheering. And you were over there all worried and kind of trying to keep me in my place. At the end of the day, that was Tom Brady's big comeback. And the Patriots came back and won that game. Judy, I don't remember a stitch of the second half. In fact, I had to come home a week later and watch that game on TV to kind of find out what happened. What happened?
SPEAKER_00Well, there was a few times where you were like celebrating. I almost needed rain gear to wear because the drinks were flying. Everything was flying. I never count my money. I never count my money until the clock says zero, zero. And I had to remind you, you wouldn't listen. I was very, very sad that that's how it turned out. That was uh, you've made that trip with me a few times. It's super fun. And again, all the free booze, not good for data, and not good for our bets.
SPEAKER_02I kind of started our little string of championship games because then a couple years later, we go to Kansas City. Same kind of thing. You call me up middle of the week. What are you doing this weekend? And I'm like, hmm. And I kind of know where this might be going. And the next thing you know, you send me a screenshot of the picture of the view from the seats at Arrowhead Stadium for the AFC Championship game with the Chiefs and the Bills. And this is going to be my third championship game. So what a great experience that was to come to that game. And actually got to meet the owner's daughter. We're walking around the parking lot and got to meet Gracie Hunt. She's in the parking lot. Let me take a selfie with her. That's your favorite team. So this is a big day for you. And obviously, they're on a roll and they're going to championships and Super Bowls. And I don't know at that point, I think Mahomes every year was playing the AFC championship game. So it was kind of a thing that you were kind of getting used to. Still just an amazing game to go to. And we had fun doing little reports. I think we were calling them Schneideki reports or whatever we were, or you know, Donnie and this is my sister Judy. Kind of what we're doing now, but we were doing it sports related. In fact, we'll show one of those. We did one where we did kind of like Matthew McConaughey, where the NFL is not trying to sell you food.
SPEAKER_00What's funny about all of that? I mean, it's kind of crazy, is first of all, I want to say, I brought good luck to the Chiefs, unlike you with your Vikings where you were Mr. Badluck. But you're right. We were in Kansas City, we're riding their little subway thing, which isn't a subway, it's like some kind of a tram thing. And I'm a pretty shy person. You know, I didn't have any social media, I didn't have anything. And all of a sudden, you're over there and you pull out your iPhone and you start, yep, here we are in the, you know, I'm Schneideki and I'm recording this, blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, and turn it over to me. And we're like Joe Buck and Troy Aikman on the on the on the tray riding around. And people are like, are you guys with the TV stations? They're thinking we're doing something real. We're just being a couple of idiots, but nothing was better than the Matthew McConaughey Uber Eats. NFL is not trying to sell you food clip.
SPEAKER_02Well, let's watch it right now.
SPEAKER_01Hi again, everybody. Don Collins along with Judy Schneideki here at the AFC Championship game, Arrowhead Stadium, Chiefs, Bill's, and I'm gonna tell you the NFL experience this weekend, all about food. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, all kinds of food trucks here at the tailgate party, Kansas City barbecue. I don't think uh the NFL is trying to sell you food dog. Oh, really? And what did you have for dinner last night, Judy? Wigs. I had buffalo wings. Judy had buffalo wings.
SPEAKER_00That was the best day ever. And it was, well, I'm gonna say second best day ever because going to the Super Bowl was the best day ever. But it was great because the Chiefs won, sent the Bills fans home. Everybody was thinking that they were gonna win. We were starting crap in the Tampa airport with Bills fans. They were like totally harassing us, thinking, you know, they were gonna win everything. So it was nothing better than when the Chiefs eat that one out. It was super exciting.
SPEAKER_02Well, I drove to that game from Denver to KC. You guys flew in, and I remember I got there early, checked into the hotel, and was hungry, didn't have any food. So I noticed they had a gas station like two streets down the block. And hey, what better food than gas station food? I go and I decide, and they've got all different kinds of sandwiches. Donnie decides to get a tuna and an egg salad sandwich. Two sandwiches. One is tuna, one's egg salad. Neither one of those age well. And who knows when these sandwiches are made. I ate those. Well, then the next couple of hours I'm laying in the hotel room going, hmm, do I have a stomach? Is my stomach hurt?
SPEAKER_00And the gas station was kind of sketched. That was, you know, I'm like, it's an older gas station, and they're selling those sandwiches in a vending machine. Hello.
SPEAKER_02Well, that was my third championship game, but you had the fortune. You guys went to the Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_00I will say that was the best day ever. I think I'm still paying for going to that Super Bowl financially. It was the Super Bowl of all Super Bowls, if you were a Chiefs fan, because it was their first one back, and it was amazing. What was really crazy, and I know we kind of alluded to it before in another episode. We get invited, by the way, the tickets, they come, they're like special delivery. And this is when you would get the paper tickets. They were involved. I bet those tickets just to make those were like 200 bucks. It was crazy. But we went to a pre-party that was included with that ticket price. It was again in all you can drink, all you can eat. Good thing you weren't there. My good thing you weren't at this one. You sat it out. We get there, and I'm like, oh my God, I see Kyle Brandt from the NFL Network. Let's go in and let's go see if we can get on TV. I think you were watching the show at the time.
SPEAKER_02I'm sitting there watching the pregame show in Denver, the Super Bowl, and you didn't even tell me this was going on. I'm watching the pregame show, and all of a sudden I look over at Kyle Brandt's interviewing or talking to somebody, and we're standing like a foot away from him, right behind him. You and Denise. Oh my God, that's Judy. And then I had to text you, go, I got a picture of you guys on TV.
SPEAKER_00What are the odds of that? It was just crazy. It was, like I said, it was remarkable. And again, I left happy. My team was not cursed. The curse ended right then and there. And it was awesome.
SPEAKER_02Well, and again, almost kind of that breaking news thing where you guys end up on TV and then to backtrack a little bit in Kansas City. You and Denise, we'll talk about that in a second. But a couple of years before that, you and I had gone to a Vikings Chiefs game in Kansas City. And as we're leaving the airport, you went to get a coffee, and I'm just standing there, and all of a sudden, here's the Kansas City TV station. And the guy comes up and he goes, Can I interview you? And I'm like, Yeah. So you come back, and I'm sitting there being interviewed by Kansas City Television and was on the news that night. And the angle of the story they did was the amount of Vikings fans that went to that game in Kansas City, which probably had 10,000 Viking fans at it.
SPEAKER_00That's exactly right. They were loaded up at that game. And what I will say, Chiefs won that game. So you were sad. I was happy. It was all good. Hey, did you go to a game in Philly too? And is that I I thought you went to a game in Philly, because to me, I know Philly fans are rad, but I know they booed Santa Claus. So I can't imagine going to that stadium in any kind of Vikings gear.
SPEAKER_02I'm on the train in Philadelphia going to the game, going to the link in Philadelphia, going to the Vikings Eagles game. I have a Viking stuff on, but I have a jacket on over it just in case I need to be incognito. I'm on the train and I'm being incognito, but somebody notices the purple. And some guy standing across from me on the train looks at me and he goes, huh? And I look at him and I make eye contact. And I'm like, I'm trying to zip up and then he's like, Are you a Vikings fan? And I go, Yeah. And he goes, Good luck today. And the guy, the guy ended up being super cool. But I was worried that, oh my God, I'm gonna, I'm worried that this guy now all of a sudden I'm gonna cause a scene. And the good thing is the Vikings actually took the lead on that game like 7-0. And I was real calm about cheering because I didn't want to piss off the Eagles fans. Well, the Eagles came back and won that game like 24 to 10 or something like that. So there was very little to cheer about. And on the train leaving the game, all the Eagles fans were happy. Nobody assaulted me.
SPEAKER_00That happens. And the Philly fans are really rabid. Again, booing Santa Claus. Come on.
SPEAKER_02They have a jail inside the stadium. So when fans get obnoxious, yeah, they don't have to like haul them off anywhere. They're like, come on down to the clink and they lock you up right in the basement of the stadium. Did you have a burrito episode at Why does everything involve food and getting sick?
SPEAKER_00I don't know, but I think it's where you buy stuff.
SPEAKER_02We're going to a Rockies, not the World Series, but it's the National League Championship Series. It's the NLCS. And we've gotten tickets, and it's the Rockies, and I think the Phillies, if I'm not mistaken. Well, on the way into the stadium, there's somebody out of a cooler selling burritos. And Judy, 90% of the time, those burritos are the homemade burritos. They're fantastic. However, you can't trust where they're from, how long they've been sitting out, where they were.
SPEAKER_00They have a giant cat helping roll up the burritos on their car.
SPEAKER_02So anyway, I get one of these burritos. We're going to the Rockies Phillies game, and I eat one of these burritos. I'm going to tell you right now, up front, fantastic burrito. Tasted fantastic. It's amazing. Well, we're sitting in the upper section of the stadium. And I remember sitting there with Diana, and I look over and I go, God, I think I'm getting sick. And she's like, what? And I go, yeah, I don't feel good. And Judy, I could barely make it down the stairs. And I thought, oh my God, what if I on national television just like lean over here in front of like, you know, 50,000 people? And the announcer's like, look at that guy, Bob. He's routing. And I'm like throwing up all over the place. Well, I made it downstairs. I'm getting ready to go to the bathroom. There's a line of 20 guys. And I'm like, can't cut. And just go up to him and say, guys, I'm feeling it. I'm coming in hot. So I walk around one of the stations where they're selling food and they have a big garbage bin, one of those big bins. I walk over there. And Ralph all over the place. A security guard comes over. And he probably thinks I've been drinking. Security guard comes over and says, You all right? I go, Food poisoning. And, you know, trying to convince him that that was what led to me being sick and not a rowdy fan or being drunk or anything like that. So anyway, I'm down there. Judy, this is like the third inning of a nine-inning game. The third inning. So I have to call Diana. She answers the phone. I go, I can't make it back up. And she's like, what? Yeah, I'm I'm down here throwing up. I'm sick. Come get me. Help. Help. Help me. Diana comes down. We walk out. Literally, I don't even make it out of the parking lot. They have porta potties. I have to go into one of the porta potties.
SPEAKER_00Oh my God. No.
SPEAKER_02Not TMI it. I'm just going to leave that. You guys can figure out what happened in that porta potty. So anyway, finally get back to the car. I'm sweating bullets. I'm miserable. We get home the rest of the game on the couch at home, sixth inning. I'm watching the game that I was at in the third inning. Not good.
SPEAKER_00The burritos at some of those events are sketched because they have to make a lot of burritos. I remember going to the flea market in Denver with a friend and they sell these dollar burritos. And it was the same thing. It was like two bites and then almost instantaneous Ralph, like uncontrollably projectile puked. No, just not okay. And again, you have no idea. There's like no restaurant certification, no cleanliness. Again, they could have giant putty cat rolling up everything stuff. I'm like gross.
SPEAKER_02I've never had a burrito, homemade burrito, since then. That was the last time. But what's funny, Judy, is I went to a Rockies game a couple of years later and walking up to the stadium, saw the same lady. And she's got the cooler. And I remember exactly what she looked like.
SPEAKER_01It was all I could do not to go up to her and say, You got me sick, you bitch. I had to watch the game from home.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You know. So, but yeah, just lesson learned.
SPEAKER_00So game day can be anything. And I know we've been talking a whole lot about football. Game day can be a golf outing. It can be getting ready for things. Tommy, wasn't there a time where you went golfing with our dad and and you had to low crawl off to golf class because something bad happened, or you broke a window or something?
SPEAKER_02I had to think about the golf story because there's several golf stories. Dad and I are golfing, and I always start cussing. Well, one day dad's getting ready to tee off, and I'm over there cussing. And he's like, the hell's going on. Donnie's not even hitting a shot. He's already cussing. And he turns around and I was trying to get my hoodie off, and I somehow got it wrapped up like a strait jacket. I couldn't get out of it. So and I was like, God damn it! And I was trying to get my and dad like turns around and he goes, Wow. So anyway, well, dad and I, here's the other story. Dad and I are golfing in Orlando. I'm hitting out of the sand. It's probably 150 yards to the green. When there's 150 yard shot to the green, I'll normally hit 80 yards or 70 or 90 or chunk it, leave it short. And I'm using 150 yards out, like an eight or a nine-iron. And there's no way in heck that I'm going to hit the ball to the green. I'm just going to lay it up or do whatever. Behind the green are these houses, nice houses in Orlando. I come blasting out of the sand and all of a sudden I'm like, wow. Okay, this is the one time in my life I'm going to hit the best golf shot I've ever hit. And with a nine iron, I crush this shot like 180 yards. It goes flying over the green. I'm like, what the? And all of a sudden I hear a loud crash. I just broke somebody's window. So I duck down and I lay down in the sand so nobody can see me. And then I start army crawling back over to the golf cart, just thinking I can get away with it. But to make a long story short, I did actually go over to the house, rang the doorbell, because it had blasted, looked like right through a bedroom window, shattered it. I saw it. I walked to the front of the house, I rang the doorbell, I rang the doorbell. Nobody answered. So do I leave a note or no, no. Then at that point I I ran. I just I just ran back to the golf cart. Dad's like, what happened?
SPEAKER_00I go, don't drive.
unknownDrive, drive.
SPEAKER_00I have to say, I have friends here today that say, my neighbor friends and uh other friends, but they say, Hey, when are you gonna start playing golf? Are you gonna play golf? You know, blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, yeah, yeah, I mean, I probably will start playing golf in a year or so. And there is three things that shaped why I don't do golf. Maybe more. And I might pick it up again. But the first one is, is I actually drove over myself golfing with a golf cart. Whatever. I turned too sharp, flew out of the cart, and drove over myself. That's issue one. The other issue is I got some new golf shoes and I was all brought on my shoes. So I'm parading around the uh sand trap with my new shoes, showing everybody. Well, of course, I fall into the sand trap. I trip, and all people see are my two legs sticking up on the golf trap. Like an idiot. But the third, and this was probably the most embarrassing of them all. I arrived to the golf course a little early. And I'm all excited. I'm gonna practice doing some little chipping onto the green. I'm chipping, chipping balls like crazy up onto the green. All of a sudden I hear people just yelling at me like crazy, screaming and yelling. I wasn't on the practice green, I was on the 18th hole champagne where they were trying to hit the ball.
SPEAKER_02Wow, shocked you didn't get banned from the golf course for that bad attic.
SPEAKER_00So listen, I can't embarrass myself. Well, there is one more thing, too. I was teeing off, and this is in Evergreen, Colorado. Our dad is standing right behind us. I hit a tree, and the tall ricocheted back behind us, and he hits dad right in the arm. So the golf outings were my game day, kind of little nightmares.
SPEAKER_02Judy, I gotta ask you, your best game, the best game you've ever been to, and I'm gonna real quick tell you there's two that I've been to, save the championship games. Those games were phenomenal. All three championship games, by the way, were fantastic games. I had the opportunity back in the day to go to a Vikings-Browns game. I was working as a security guard in Minneapolis, and the Vikings, that's the last game of the year. They're down by three touchdowns in the fourth quarter, and they come back and win the game. They're down like 23-8, and the Vikings end up winning the game like 28-23. It's the Ahmad Rashad Hail Mary game where Tommy Kramer throws a bomb. And most of the people had left the stadium because they thought the Vikings, this is at Metropolitan Stadium. So most of the people had left the stadium. Well, Tommy Kramer hits Rashad with a 50-yard bomb on the last play of the game. I'm in my security guard uniform on the second deck, and I remember just turning around, and this big fat lady runs up to me and starts hugging me, and we're jumping up, we're jumping up and down like we had just won the Super Bowl. Some rando lady hugging a security guard because the Vikings had rallied to win. Judy, the other game that I'm talking about that was a fantastic game, I had a chance to go to London and watch the Vikings and the Browns. So again, the Browns watching them in London, and it's a regular season game. Got tickets, flew over there, went to the game, went with our other sister, and we had terrible seats. It was in Twickenham Stadium where they play, I think rugby. It's a rugby stadium that holds like 70,000 people. We're on the upper deck. Well, our other sister couldn't sit in the seats. It was too high up. She got, you know, like vertigo or something, huh? Yep. And she wanted to watch the game, or she wanted to hang out in the parking lot and have me just let her know when the game was over and meet up with her. And I'm like, oh my God, how terrible for three hours? You're gonna wait in the parking lot and I'm gonna go to the game. Well, we start walking out, and uh, an usher comes up and he goes, What's the problem? Right away, I'm like, she can't sit in the seats, they're too high up. She's got vertigo or Derda Heights or whatever it is. And she's literally like holding onto the wall in this little alleyway. The usher says, Well, hang on, let me see what I can do. And he goes out, gets on his radio, and he comes back and he goes, Follow me. And he takes us down to the lower level. And I'm thinking, hmm, what's going on here? He goes, We're gonna reseat you guys. And he takes us over to the ticket window, and Judy, they give us two tickets, 50-yard line, 20 rows up, aisle seats behind the Vikings bench. The best seats in the house that we got to watch that game from because our sister had a problem with Vertigo and the height and sitting in the upper deck and all that. So got reseated and had an amazing time and sat in the best seats in Twickenham Stadium for the Vikings and the Browns. Just a crazy story.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think I'm gonna have Vertigo in my next game. I go to I'm like, whoa, I'm feeling dizzy. That's a great experience, great story. You know, the Super Dough in New Orleans is pretty, if you're like in the upper nosebleed section, that's pretty straight up too. I mean, it's like you're looking almost in a bowl, looking straight down. Just kind of crazy. My best game, I mean, I had a couple games. One wasn't even a Chiefs game. One was I went to the Broncos at Old Mile High Stadium, and I believe they were playing the Houston Oilers at the time with Warren Moon, and they were winning. It was cold. It was below zero. That game was chilly, and the whole stadium is shaking. I mean, you could feel it shaking. I think even on TV, you could see the shaking of everything. And Elway led him back to uh like one of his cornerstone comebacks, and it was just crazy. It was an amazing game.
SPEAKER_02My one takeaway from that game was the can in Old Mile High Stadium, the stadium rocked. Literally, it shook, and the cameras would shake. And when there was a big play for the Broncos, that TV camera would start shaking. That was kind of fun watching that on TV. One other thing I want to mention, Judy, you and I have had passion for football and for sports our entire life. We've gone to now probably dozens, if not hundreds, of games in all sports, all genres, anything you could think of. One of the things that I'm proud of is that I've actually passed along that passion to my kids. So my kids are into sports. Crystal out in Atlanta goes to Braves games, she'll go to football games. And then the middle daughter, Katarina, huge sports fan. And I remember I took her to a Broncos Bengals game on Christmas Eve. Like your game, cold weather, single digits, or teens. Well, in the third quarter, it starts snowing on Christmas Eve. And it's just miserable cold at this game. And we're supposed to go to mom and dad's house after the game and open presents and hang out and you know, open the presents that we found out what they were three months ago and all that kind of stuff. I said to Katarina eight minutes to go in the third quarter, I said, Let's go. And Katarina looks at me like I was crazy and she's like, What? I go, let's go. Let's start walking to the car. And she goes, What? And she goes, I'm not leaving. I go, what? She goes, there's eight minutes to go in the game. She wanted to stay until that final gun.
SPEAKER_00I thought you were gonna say you bought her a burrito so she'd leave. I have to say, I've enjoyed every game I've gone to. I've enjoyed the Chiefs game, a lot of the playoff games and whatever. Those have always been pretty exciting. I haven't gone to a lot of Viking games. I grew up a Viking fan, you know, like you did, more so Chiefs and Vikings. I went to the Bounty Gate game in New Orleans as well. And it was Brett Favre and when they were trying to hurt him. I I had a feeling the game wasn't gonna go so well when I saw Adrian Peterson out the night before, late, kind of like, okay, what are you doing out there? We've had we've been really had a lot of good fortune and get to go to some of these games. It's a lot of fun. I don't make the same bad food choices as you do because I actually want to enjoy the whole thing leading up to it and come at all.
SPEAKER_02Judy, the all you can eat and all you can drink thing maybe works for a lot of people, does not work for Donnie.
SPEAKER_00I think that's true. If you want to follow us on uh TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, that's the awesome. Also send us pictures.
